Common New Year's Cycling

With warm clothing, cycling is fun even in winter when there is no slippery ice to spoil your enjoyment.
On the threshold of the year 2025, some people dressed colorfully and pedaled in sub-zero temperatures but warming sunshine and welcomed the New Year at Schönbühel market square.
Motivated by the Melk cycling lobby and inspired by the protection of our environment and the awareness that sustainability can bring about positive change, the Bürger*innenKRAFTwerk invited people to try cycling in winter. Some people followed the call and did not regret it.
The market square in Schönbühel was the destination of the Melk cycling lobby and the starting point for a colorful New Year's cycling event organized by Bürger*innenKRAFTwerk.
With warming punch and New Year's pastries, cycling experiences were exchanged, information from the cycling lobby and Bürger*innenKRAFTwerk was shared, and a glass of champagne was used to toast many more cycling kilometers in 2025. Overall, the focus was on fun and not on the sporting challenge.
Fingers warmed in gloves make fresh air a pleasure!
Finally, we visited a coffee house in Melk by bike and shared thoughts about sustainability.
